Chasing Harvest: A Docu-series on YouTube Showcasing Wine and Wine Culture in South Africa
|
![]() I am happy to announce that we premiered our most recent episode of Chasing Harvest on Youtube: Chasing Harvest: The Dynamic Duo at Klein Goederust... Re-scripting Destiny
I am on a mission, my mission is to show the world, especially my fellow Americans the beauty of South African wines and wine culture. I am working on a Youtube series that will amplify the South African wine market. The series is fun, educational, inviting and most importantly diverse. We showcase all parts of the wine industry from grape to bottle. We also highlight all sorts of people from the generational farm worker, new brand owners and generational winemakers. We will also highlight transformation efforts for disadvantaged people while showing viewers historic wine farms and the culture that makes South Africa a world leader in producing fine wine. I would like to take a pause, take a deep breath, acknowledge and thank the sponsors. Because of their generous support I proudly have three episodes complete. (Click here to see the first episode) While I am happy to share my work on Youtube and promote across social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, the ultimate goal is to showcase my series on streaming platforms and eventually a full Nextflix or Amazon series. (Let's all speak that into existence!!). I have had some interest already! The problem is I need to create more content that is professionally shot. The reason I am reaching out to you is because I am looking for sponsorships for my episodes. I am creating nine total this harvest season. Each episode cost roughly $400 to film. This budget is as tight as I could come up with and includes payments to the camera person, editor, transportation, and food. Your sponsorship could be as little as $50 to $3,600. All levels come with perks of course!!! (See below for Perks with Sponsorship) A little about the production crew. If you know me then you realize one of my missions in life is to impact and pour positivity into South Africa. In South Africa youth (ages 18-26 ) unemployment rate is 65%. So when I found a young woman in that age range who launched her own production company I immediately got excited! Qhama Phandle is a natural talent with vast potential. I fell in love with her work after she filmed me on a random wine tasting excursion. You can view it here CHASING HARVEST 2022 . Isithandile Matshoba “Issh”, is our Social Media and Production Manager. I have worked with Issh since Lockdown 2020. Here is an example of Issh’s work: SOMM QUESTIONS WITH ISSH Together our small crew intends to create content that inspires! The entire two person crew is South African born and raised. Not only is it a great time to support my project, it is also a way to uplift a demographic of people, our youth who need it most!
