Corks and Forks Summer Dinner Series: Sip South Africa with T!
Join Tuanni, owner of Zuri Wine Tasting as she recaps her three month journey through South Africa’s wine country. Sip your way through the beautiful wine farms of the Western Cape located just 45 minutes from Cape Town.
Each dinner is a pairing experience where guest will have the opportunity to taste world class wines from South African. The wines are from small boutique wineries each with a unique story and reflection of the South African terroir.
Dinner consist of a four course meal, and six wines. Each course is paired with a wine from South Africa. It will be the perfect opportunity to hear an inside perspective of the wine industry, culture and people of South Africa.
This three part summer dinner series will be the last Thursday of each month at 7pm. (Location TBD, a resturant in central Los Angeles) Join us for all 3 dinners or select just one. To ensure an intimate and informative experience each dinner is limited to 20 people. Advance confirmation with payment is required.
Diner #1 June 28th - People of color in the industry; the workers, the wines they produce and brand owners. The post Apartheid era has provided opportunity and economic growth to people it was once denied to. These wines showcase and celebrate this new era. We will pour wines from Seven Sisters, Aslina, Tinashe Nyumaga, and Kunjani.
Dinner #2 July 26th - The King and Queen of South African wine Pinotage and Chenin Blanc. Each country has a grape that best represents its identity as a nation. For South Africa it is Pinotage for red wines and Chenin Blanc for the whites. This dinner will feature the best of the best demonstrating the diversity and range for each grape.
Dinner #3 August 30- Western Cape Wines! The Terroir from the Coast to the Valley and how the surrounding Mountains combined with the nearby ocean help create the most magnificent wines.This will be the most diverse tasting with non typical (for the region) international grapes like Riesling, Gewurztrminer, Sangiovese, Pinot Noir, Tannant and Nebbiolo.
