Palate & Aroma Training :
Wine is all about texture and aromas! In mouth we taste basic perception of sweet, sour, bitter, astringent, and burning sensations.  These sensations make up the texture of wine.  In order to learn how to identify these textures on the palate, in this class we use common food items to build a wine cocktail where one can discover step by step what these sensations are and how they feel in your mouth. In this palate training class I demonstrate what tannins, acidity, sweetness, astringency and alcohol feel like in wine.
The second half of the class we focus on identifying and building a common language to speak about aromas in wine.  We go way beyond Gooseberries and Black currant to a wine language destination that resonates with you personally.
A well trained nose can detect thousands of aromas. It takes practice!
