When people drink at home and with friends they tend to be more willing to ask the questions they've always had about wine. Some questions that may seem naive at first thought, but trust me they are typical questions that everyone asks. Like, how long can I keep wine after I open it? How long should I save a bottle of unopened wine? What is the best wine to have with fish? And my favorite question... What makes a good wine GOOD?
We'll answer the last one for now because it is the most relevant. Simply put "a good wine is one that brings friends and strangers together, it opens up a conversation, makes people smile and sets the tone for good vibes." Our virtual wine class brings good vibes to your home with fun games and really useful wine knowledge. We play fun games with prizes, provide wine education and there is a Q&A session: Ask your favorite sommelier anything
We’ll taste 3 wines and pair with wine bites (food and wine not included in fee)
Palate Training with DIY Aroma Making (Wine required, not included)
Wine is all about texture and aromas! In mouth taste basic perception of sweet, sour, bitter, astringent, and burning sensation. In order to learn how to identify these sensations This class uses common items found at home to build a wine cocktail where one can discover what these sensations are.
In this palate training class I demonstrate what tannins, acidity, sweetness, astringency and alcohol feel like in wine. One of the learning objectives is, next time someone asks what tannins are? You can explain what they are and how they feel!
And the aromas that everyone talks about….A well trained nose can detect thousands of aromas. It takes practice! Practice by smelling everything all the time! Wine aromas kits can help train your nose, however they can be expensive. The good news is you can make your own. As part of this class Ishare the most common aromas identified in wine and show you how to create your own wine aroma kit. It’s fun and interactive
